Wonder Day

All I do is play video games. I am good at it. It is a good thing in my life. Because it distracts me from boredom. In the future I might want to make video games.

The most urgent priority is to get good grades. I have a bad habit I wish I could stop. I chew my fingernails.  - middle school student, North Carolina

Wonder Day 10.27.15

I am proud that I am good at basketball. I am also proud that I am not racist. I hang out with all kinds. I also like that I'm not two-faced which means that your friend is happy with a guy and then go talk behind his back. One bad thing is that I get jealous easy which sucks cause people sometimes make me jealous then I just got to have their shoes, clothes, etc. Another bad thing is that I get mad easy and when I get mad I get destructive. - middle school student, North Carolina

Wonder Day 10.5.15

I've changed my life by reading because reading can take you places you've never been. - middle school student, North Carolina  USA

Wonder Day 10.1.15

I feel like last year I fooled around and didn't take school seriously, but luckily I had passed. This year I am trying a lot harder in school since it reflects on what job you can get and plans your future. I really wanna do good in school and high school next year. I also want to go to college and I can not get there if I fool around and think carelessly about my grades.  -middle school student, North Carolina USA

Wonder Day 9.30.15

I wish I could be more confident. When I was younger I was bullied and didn't really talk to anyone. I was the quiet one in the family and liked it that way. Today I am more talkative and am more open to people. I just wish I could have changed that when I was younger so that I could have had more friends and more adventures and opportunities. I like my life now and wouldn't change it for the world. My friends and I have fun and I always meet new people each day (almost). I get good grades and have more fun. I think my life would be different if I would have changed when I was younger.  - middle school student, North Carolina

Wonder Day 9.24.15

My positive change is when people start to talk about me. I just get mad and want to say stuff back. But I don't because I know I'm going to get in trouble. So when people start to talk to me I just start to ignore because they always get on my last nerve. And I just get tired.  - middle school student, North Carolina  USA

Wonder Day 9.8.15

At the end of last year, my dad told me that I should play volleyball, and I agreed. So over the summer, I went to volleyball workouts to practice. Then I tried out at the beginning of the year and made the team. After many practices, I began to get more into shape than I was before, and I began forming new friendships. This sport has increased my energy and happiness at school and home. This sport has helped me with my life and school more than I thought it could. - middle school student, North Carolina  USA

Wonder Day 8.26.15

I wish that people would stop pushing me around and stop treating me bad just because I may be smaller than them. I cannot stand up for myself and I want to prove them wrong by showing them that short people are just as good as them. We are able to do stuff for ourselves. The only time this happens is at school.

Whenever I see a small person being picked on by someone bigger than them, I help them to stand up to them and so I learn to help people to stand up for themselves. Those people are happy for what I have done and I have helped them to stand up for themselves. - middle school student, North Carolina USA

Wonder Day 7.27.15

I used to be really down and negative. I didn't have a lot of friends and that made me sad. But one day I realized that I don't have any friends because I didn't make an effort to make any. Then one day I started talking to new people. I started smiling and just overall became a more positive person. I've definitely become less shy and a better person. I'm really happy with who I am. - middle school student, North Carolina USA

Wonder Day 7.22.15

I wish people would stop bullying me. I have been bullied for about eight years or since I started school. Just because you have something is not right doesn't mean you have to bully people. I've done things I'm not proud of but I've triedto change but I don't seem to see change so I'll just go along as it is. - middle school student, NC

Wonder Day 7.10.15

I'm looking for a rainbow.

The most agonizing moment of my life was when my parents got divorced. The only good thing out of it was I did not have to listen to them fight anymore. I always thought it was my fault and I still think it was. Now, my dad is a single father raising 3 children and school just takes money and time that families like mine need the most. - middle school student, North Carolina

Wonder Day 7.9.15

This is the real me-- I will stop listening to what others say about me.

Stop listening to how people think of how I look, dress, and who I date. I am me and I am glad God made me this way. I tried and tried to make people like me, but that didn't work. I'm not waking up every day to please nobody but God himself. I am sticking up for myself and not letting anyone run over me.

"THIS IS A NEW DAY!" Live life to the fullest, have fun, you only live once. So go wild, be yourself, stay focused on what you do best. I found out who my true friends are in my life and now it's time for me to grow up and be myself and find out who I am. - middle school, North Carolina

Wonder Day 6.24.15

No Hate. Don't push away! If someone asks you what's wrong, don't say nothing or it's fine. Tell them what really is wrong. Especially your family. They might show love in a different way and sometimes you don't like that way, but don't push them away or hurt them with mean words. Tell them what's wrong and they might actually help you. Try to find a way you like to tell people things. Your family cares, but you just don't know it. Just don't hate. If a friend comes to you, don't snap at them and tell them to go away. Tell them what's wrong. If they are good friends they will care. If not, they're bad. They just push away from people by not helping friends try[ing] not to push away from their family.

Wonder Day 6.5.15

I'm proud of myself for being myself. I am not racist. Racism hurts everyone. Some people in school are racist and we must stop the racist people from bullying minorities forever. I have improved my grades in school and I am proud of this. I am more respectful to my teachers and friends and I don't get in trouble anymore. - middle school student, North Carolina

Wonder Day 6.3.15

Something that changed my life was about 10 years ago. My parents bought me my first console which was a Playstation. It made my life because it was fun and I was really good at two games, Medal of Honor and Street Fighter. I used to be lonely before my brother was born. My parents would both work day and night and I would never see them. My Playstation was the only thing that would give me company. - middle school, North Carolina

Wonder Day 5.26.15

One positive change that I made is when one thing does not go right. I would use to get angry, upset, sad, and depressed if things did not go well. Now I have fun with what I do and not worry if it goes wrong. Plus now I have a better life because I am not angry, upset, sad, and depressed a lot. So I say, if things don't go right go left. If you try and try to get things right you will not have fun doing some of the important things in life. Plus your memory will have the thing you regret and not the thing you want to do. - middle school student, NC

Wonder Day 5.21.15

Something that I have changed in my life is that now I am happy and by being happy I can make someone else's life happy if they have been sad. By being happy, I can erase all the awful things that have happened in my life by being happy. I don't worry about what people say about me. Being happy is feeling good and everybody likes feeling good. Last year I got mad a lot and I think that I really started to lose my friends. When I'm happy I feel free but when I'm sad, I feel like I'm behind bars and then I feel frustrated. So now I feel very happy and being mad creates problems cause then I always get mad. So I try to stay happy. So this is what has change in my life. Now I'm happy and I'm gonna make someone else's life happy.  - middle school student, NC

Wonder Day 5.19.15

I play instruments by ear. I can hear something and play it (most of the time). But I can be even better at playing instruments if I take lessons and if I practice. I used to take lessons for piano but I never practiced. I was too lazy to practice. Now that I think about it, when I am older, I will regret it. I will want to know when I am older how to play music because I really like music and playing. Then I will play and enjoy, and let others enjoy. - middle school student, North Carolina

Wonder Day 5.12.15

One thing I am freakishly good at is probably battle strategy. I would not want to tell anybody because it would be considered bragging and people don't like people who brag. Anyway I think I'm good at battle strategy because I've played many video games involving strategy and I've managed to defeat many computer controlled characters and many other players. But I have learned even the best strategist can be defeated with force. - middle school student, NC

Wonder Day 5.11.15

When I was little I was the only girl in my family. I have two big brothers, but now I have a little sister. My brothers and I always argued and yelled and fought each other. I would cry because they hit me all the time. I had no one to play with but my Barbies and my dog. I was most happy when I played with my toys and my dog. I love animals. But when I played with my Barbies, it was like I was in my own little world, a fantasy world. I would play with them for hours non-stop. But lucky for me I have a big family. So when my cousins came over they would play with me. We played with Barbies all the time and...and dress them up. But now that we have grown up, me and my brothers don't fight. I have learned that my brothers would hit me for a reason. I would get on their nerves and mess with them so they would hit me for a reason. I'm kind of happy they hit me because it made me stronger, not a weak girl. Now that me and my brothers are teenagers, we have grown close because we don't fight, we love each other so much. We would die for each other. So now I know that my brothers made me what I am now and I love them. Family is everything. (OTF) I love my family to death. - middle school student, NC
