Wonder Day 6.25.15

I want to stop eating processed foods. I crave crackers and chips. I eat them while watching television or when I read.

How will I stop? I'll commit to not eating chips and crackers. I won't buy crackers and chips. I won't watch tv or read when I eat. I'll look at what I'm eating when I eat.

I'll explore with my counselor why I crave chips and crackers and eat them even when I know that eating a whole bag of them is not good for me.

I'll put a sign on the cupboard that says "make another choice." - anonymous, from an adult workshop

Wonder Day 6.16.15

I decided to follow what I wanted to do for college instead of what my family wanted. My mother and grandparents had certain ideas about where I should go and what I should do, but I chose to go where I wanted and where. I felt the deepest sense of contentment. This has allowed me to become excited by my future and has let me see that I can start making my own choices as I enter adulthood. It has allowed me to follow my heart and stand on my own, even when it's an unpopular choice. I have never been happier or more excited than I am now.

Wonder Day 5.20.15

Be in control of my future. Since it's mine, and I'm the one living my life, I want to be able to choose what happens in it. But if I put it that way, it sounds too easy. It's not always easy especially if you lack energy or direction or both. - university student

Wonder Day 5.14.15

I wanna change this year by making better choices in life. It's not really that hard if I think before I do something. - middle school student, TX

Wonder Day 5.5.15

The positive change I made when I got locked up is to stop hanging around bad influence and to stop smoking and just to walk away if I get offered to smoke crack. Now I'm on probation so the best things to do when I'm on probation is to be true and do what's right for our own good. - middle school student, TX

Wonder Day 3.24.15

This is how I would make my life positive is by not hanging with the wrong people and make better choices and also don't do bad. Things that would mess up your life plans and also your career plans. Only do things that would change your family and friends minds from doing the wrong thing. The only things you really need in life are happiness, hope and god. - middle school student, TX

Wonder Day 1.9.15 - Lily Sloan

I want to take more positive action in defining (and redefining) what success in my career looks like...TO ME. I want to walk steadily toward that picture...or dance there. I want to worry less about how the choices in my career, family, or lifestyle look to other people. I want to be open to change and redirection.

Lily Sloan - dancer, teacher. Co-founder Big Rig Dance Collective.
